One of my most favorite books EVER!

"I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.”

I started this book expecting nothing whatsoever, and then I'm met with these mysterious characters who apparently has big problems that they try to solve, but never succeeded. Then I'm intrigued. I couldn't stop reading, and I started reading each chance I was given. I was hooked. The story start with Nastya, a girl who try to run away from everyone around. From the world. From everything that meant something to her. It was all due a tragedy, and a very bad tragedy at that.

Josh is a lonely high school student who is pitied by everyone. Who doesn't know his story? Nobody. Until Nastya come along, and suddenly things start to change slowly. Everything shift in his life without being able to do anything about it.

The characters in this book were all very developed. Developed very nicely too. I absolutely love Drew, and even though he was a jerk because he used Nastya, he was still likable. Drew still cared about her. I was very mad when he left her alone in the party, and I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. My other favorite character was Clay. He was super cute, and I just loved how he treated Nastya even though he didn't know her well. This book was amazing because all the characters seemed real, and deep. It was very unpredictable, and I felt myself going through a rolercoaster that I didn't want to end. Ever.

“I never realized that grief and self-pity weren’t the same thing. I thought grieving was what I was doing all this time I had been feeling sorry for myself, but it wasn’t. So for the first time in nearly three years, I let myself grieve.”

“Nothing is perfect. It’s not even good yet. But maybe.”

The secret love between Josh & Nastya is very lovely. I was happy when they laughed, and cried when there were sad parts. Cried a lot. I have to also say that Katja Millay is an amazing writer, and I'm going to check out all her books now.

This book is NOT about love. It's about falling in it. About healing, and getting over tragedies. It is about how pick up the fallen pieces and putting them back together.

“I miss him today. I miss him every day. I went to Home Depot tonight just to walk through the lumber aisle and try to breathe.”

“Emilia,” he says, and when he does, it warms me to my soul. “Every day you save me.”

Another amazing things about this book is that we see the changes slowly. Very slowly, and it more realistic. We also see how these changes make Nastya & Josh react to situations. This book is about finding home. The Sea of Tranquility.

“I’m trying to see the magic in everyday miracles now: the fact that my heart still beats, that I can lift my feet off of the earth to walk and that there is something in me worthy of love. I know that bad things still happen. And sometimes I still ask myself why I am alive; but now, when I ask, I have an answer.”

Last but not least, I gave this book five stars & it became one of my highly favorite books ever. I loved every part of it, and it made me laugh, cry, and surprisde at some plot twists.
