This is a novella writen by Shay Savage in Evan's POV. It is actually only the start of the story, and the second book is a novel. Although this is pretty short, it actually left an impact on me since it was unique.

“You are by far the most interesting thing I've had to look at in a long, long time.”
At first, we see Evan Arden as a cold person who lives far away in the desert. He hasn't comunicated with people in a very long time; since he started living in his small shack. However, when a woman gets lost one day, and appear in his 'territory', everything change for him.

When Lia find the little shack out of nowhere, she has no other choices but to stay there as an unexpected guest. We see how she find Evan attractive, but she's very shy, and hesitant. She is also very confused about Evan's situation.
After spending only one night in his shack, and the next morning arrive, how is each character's life going to change?

I actually really LOVE how this novella is the start of another novel called Otherwise Occupied. I like the attraction between Lia and Evan, and how it grows little by little as the night goes.
I also really like the fact that this is a male POV, and it's quite different than other novellas. I felt like there was more depth to it, and I really like the writing. We also see more into each character's life, and maybe it's because this is only a prequal to a novel.
This was VERY short, and so, it was hard to connect with the characters, and love them. However, it did perk my interest and I really want to read the second book soon.
In the end, I decided to give this book 3-stars because yes I really did like it, however, I didn't get attached to the characters. It was an okay-read!
